What is silk?

Silk is a natural protein fiber produced by silkworms and has been prized for centuries for its softness, durability, and beautiful luster. Of all types of silk, mulberry silk is considered the highest quality option – it has uniform and long fibers, is silky smooth, and is gentle on the skin.
Our bedding is made from 100% mulberry silk with a density of 22 momme, which provides a great balance between luxury and durability. “Momme” indicates the density of the silk – 22 momme quality silk is strong enough to last a long time, while being light and breathable, suitable for year-round use.
Silk bed linen has several advantages:
- The smooth material reduces friction, helping to prevent wrinkles, and skin and hair damage;
- Regulates temperature, staying cool in summer and warm in winter;
- Hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Silk does not collect dust mites or mold;
- Antibacterial. Silk inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi;
- Absorbs and releases moisture, staying dry;
- Silk fibers are naturally continuous, making the material strong and durable.
So that silk remains beautiful and lasts for a long time
- When washing, turn the products inside out if possible.
- Prefer hand washing. When machine washing, use a maximum of 30C, the most gentle washing program, and a laundry bag.
- Use a gentle detergent or a special silk detergent for washing.
- After washing, lay your silk product out to air dry. Protect from direct sunlight.
- Air your silk products in fresh air from time to time.
- To restore shine, iron on low heat using a steamer.
